A Mother’s Thoughts !

In the silence,
Across the miles,
I hear your unspoken words.

Suddenly my heart overflows,
Just like,
A mother to her child.

The need arises,
To ask,
How are you,
My precious child ?

But then you are silent.
As you are not my own ?

Yet my own.
As you are in my heart,
And in my soul.

Always been,
And will be for ever.

Does anyone need,
To belong to you ?

To have that love,
Of a mother,
To her child ?

A mother to my child,
I will always be,

To my child,
A mother,
I always will be !

Doors That Close !

In life,
Suddenly some doors,
Close upon us.

Some for awhile,
Some forever.

Leaving us,
Bewildered and lost !

Some doors open again.
Can we walk through them again ?
Not so !

As in life,
We are always moving.
While they were closed,
We would have,
Walked through,
Many many other doorways.

Taking us,
Further and further away,
To places and,
To those,
Whom we really belong.

That makes it,
To return,

To walk through,
The doors that,
Closed upon us,

Long time ago !

Trees !

I think I shall never see,
A poem lovely as a tree,
A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed,
Against the earth’s, sweet flowering breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray.

A tree that may in Summer wear,
A nest of Robins in her hair.
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by people like me,
But only God can make a tree !
